India Thrashes Sri Lanka to Climb to Second Spot in T20 World Cup
In the Women’s T20 World Cup, India set a challenge of 173 runs for victory against Sri Lanka. But the Sri Lankan team managed to score. Due to this, India’s net run rate has improved tremendously. the Indian team lost the match against New Zealand by 58 runs. So the challenge in the competition depends on it. So it was very important to win by a big margin. the Indian team filled this gap in the match against Sri Lanka. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Indian team scored 172 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs and had set a challenge of 173 runs for victory.
Sri Lanka could manage only 90 runs all out. With this, the Indian team won by a resounding 82 runs. Smriti Mandhana and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored half-centuries. Asha Shobhana was the most successful bowler from India with 19 runs and 3 wickets in 4 overs. Arundhati Reddy conceded 19 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets. Renuka Singh Thakur took 2 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. Shreyanka Patil conceded 15 runs in 4 overs and lost one wicket. Deepti Sharma took a wicket in the last over to give India victory.
