Selection of Test and T20I team
The selection committee has selected a total of 21 people for this series. Out of these 21 players, 18 players are included in the main team. So 3 cricketers are reserved. Among the reserve players, Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini, and Khalil Ahmed have been given a chance. Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhimanyu Iswaran have been selected for the first time in Test cricket.
Both Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel have been selected as wicketkeepers for the Australia tour. Apart from that, KL Rahul has been successful in maintaining his place in the team. R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar have been included as spinners. These three will be responsible for batting along with bowling.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, and Harshit Rana will be the focus of fast bowling. Prasidh has made a comeback in the team after many months. Prasidhan made his Test debut during the South Africa tour last year.
Both Akshar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have not been given a chance for this tour. Akshar will play in the T20I series of the South Africa tour. While Kuldeep Yadav is struggling with injury, he is gearing up for a comeback in NC.
