Ishan Kishan Unlikely for T20I Series Against Bangladesh
After making his comeback in the Duleep Trophy 2024, Ishan Kishan likely won’t be included in India’s T20I squad for the series against Bangladesh. Instead, the team may select Jitesh Sharma as the second wicketkeeper-batsman. Abhishek Sharma, who debuted internationally against Zimbabwe, might also earn a spot in the squad.
As per a PTI report, several players, including Rishabh Pant, who is currently handling wicketkeeping duties in the Test series, may get rested. The report suggests that Sanju Samson will likely be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper, with Jitesh Sharma serving as the backup option.
Limited Availability for Jaiswal and Gaikwad
Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to be available only for the first T20I match. He may be rested ahead of the upcoming New Zealand series. Ruturaj Gaikwad may also miss the first match as he will lead the Rest of India team in the Irani Cup. which will be played in Lucknow from October 1 to 5.
Abhishek Sharma’s Comeback
Abhishek Sharma. who made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe after a stellar performance in IPL 2024, is expected to return to the team after being dropped from the Sri Lanka series. Let us tell you that the three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will start from October 6.
