Team India’s Fightback After Early Struggles
Team India cut its nose in the first innings of the first Test against New Zealand. Rohitsena’s first innings ended on just 46 runs. Then on the third day, New Zealand shared a partnership of 137 runs for the 8th wicket with Rachin Ravindra and Tim Southee.
New Zealand scored 402 all out in the first innings. So New Zealand took a solid lead of 356 runs in the first innings against Team India. Team India then made a promising start in reply.

Rohit and Yashasvi’s Promising Start
Captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal both shared an opening partnership of 72 runs. But then there was a stumping out amid a successful big hit. Yashasvi scored 32 runs. After the success, Rohit also returned after scoring a few runs. Rohit scored 52 runs.
But after that, Sarfraz Khan and Virat Kohli both got the better of New Zealand. Virat attacked from one side while Sarfaraz hit in top gear from the other side. Sarfraz struck every chance he got and completed his half-century with a single-double.
