According to an ESPNcricinfo report, differences have emerged between Gary Kirsten and the players. Also, he has differences with the PCB over the decisions of the coaching staff. Kirsten had allegedly requested to appoint David Reid as the high-performance coach, which was not in line with the PCB’s priorities, which led to tension.
He had told the board that he would not go to Australia with the team without him. The PCB did not listen to him. Apart from this, Kirsten was not following his two-year contract, according to a report which he had to stay in Pakistan. For this, he had refused the board. One reason is also that Kirsten was upset with the excessive interference of the selection committee. The PCB refused to let him appear in the selection panel, due to which he was disappointed.
