Shaw was very disappointed at not being selected for the VHT team and expressed his anger through a social media post. He was part of the Mumbai team that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) explained the reason behind not including Shaw in the team. At the same time, now Prithvi Shaw has once again put forth his side on this matter, after which the matter has started gaining momentum again.

MCA Official Explains Reason Behind Prithvi Shaw’s Exclusion from Vijay Hazare Trophy
The MCA official said, “In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, we were playing with ten fielders because Shaw had to hide. The ball would go past him and he could not catch it. Even during batting, he was having trouble reaching the ball. His fitness, discipline and attitude are poor and there cannot be different rules for different players. Even the senior players in the team had started complaining about his attitude.
Shaw Responds to Fitness and Attitude Allegations on Social Media
During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Shaw regularly missed practice sessions and used to reach the team hotel at six in the morning after staying out all night. After the official’s claim went viral, Shaw posted a cryptic story on Instagram.
Shaw wrote, “If you don’t understand it fully, don’t talk about it. Many people have complete opinions, but the facts are half-baked.
Let us tell you that this is not the first time that complaints have been made about Shaw’s behaviour and attitude. Many former players have raised concerns about his behaviour on and off the field, which has further increased his struggle.
Shaw recently suffered a setback during the IPL auction, where he remained unsold despite a modest base price of Rs 75 lakh.
