Mohammed Shami Rested for Bengal’s Opening Match
Shami was seen playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but his knee got swollen in the middle of the tournament.
Mohammed Shami was injured during the ODI World Cup 2023, due to which he has also undergone ankle surgery. He has been working hard to make a comeback in the Indian team for a long time. He has not played any international match for India for the last one year.
There were reports that Shami could be seen playing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia. But he has not been able to prove his fitness.

Shami’s Struggle with Fitness
Indian captain Rohit Sharma had told in the press conference during the ongoing series against Australia that, Mohammed Shami is playing a lot of cricket, but he was still struggling with knee swelling. The bowler is currently under the supervision of the NCA and fans will have to wait a little longer for his return.
If reports are to be believed, Shami is now eyeing a return to the white-ball format. The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played in February and March, Shami intends to play in this tournament.
