Mushfiqur Rahim: A 3-match ODI series is being played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. After that, Bangladesh will go on a West Indies tour. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the squad for the 2-match Test series of this tour.
Bangladesh’s experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has to miss this series due to injury. It is also the first time after 16 years that the experienced trio of Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, and Mushfiqur Rahim are not included in the Bangladesh team. Therefore, Bangladesh will have a real ‘test’ in this series against the West Indies.
Injury Sidelines Mushfiqur Rahim
Mushfiqur Rahim had a remarkable performance in the Test series against Pakistan. He scored 194 runs in the first Test. But after that series, Mushfiqur suffered from a shoulder injury. Then he suffered a finger injury in the series against Afghanistan. So Mushfiqur has to miss this Test series.
On the other side, Tamim Iqbal has not played a single Test match in a year. Shakib Al Hasan already retired from test cricket.
