The 3rd and 1st Group B match of the T20 World Cup 2024 was played between Oman and Namibia. The runs were low in this match but the fight was spectacular. A super over had to be played to reveal the result of the match which was played till the last ball. First, Namibia did their best to restrict Oman to just 109 runs. OMA vs NAM Super Over Drama:

Result in Super Over Namibia batted first in the Super Over. Bilal Khan came up with the over for Oman but Namibia did well. In this important over, David Wiese scored 13 runs off 4 balls with 1 six and 1 four, while captain Gerhard Erasmus scored 8 runs with the help of 2 fours. Namibia managed to score 21 runs in the Super Over. So Oman needed 22 runs in 6 balls to win. Chasing the challenge of 22 runs given by Namibia, Oman scored 2 runs off the first ball. Over from Namibia was also throwing visas.

David Wiese put the pressure on Oman with a second-ball no-hitter. With Namibia one wicket off the third ball, Oman needed 20 runs from 3 balls to win. Oman scored a run off the fourth ball. Needing 19 off the last two balls, Oman scored one run. Now it was just a formality as Oman needed 20 runs off a ball to win. The Oman batsman hit a six off the last ball but Namibia won the Super Over.

OMA vs NAM Match Summary:

Earlier, Namibia won the toss and invited Oman to bat first. Struggling from the start, Oman could not even play the allotted 20 overs and were bundled out for just 109 runs in 19.4 overs. Apart from Zeeshan Maqsood (22) and Khalil Kail (34), none of the Omani batsmen managed to score more than 20 runs. Reuben Trumbelman top-scored with four wickets for Namibia. The targets were small but the fierce fight given by the Omani team was worth watching.


Chasing an easy 110-run challenge set by Oman, Namibia also suffered a major setback early on. Opener Michael van Lingen returned to the tent without opening his account. Then Nicholas Devine (24) led the way with a run before Dan Frylink (45) played a careful knock to guide Namibia to victory. But, needing 5 runs in the last over, Namibia failed and the match remained a draw.
