Pakistan Reveals Provisional Squad for Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan’s first match with New Zealand will be held on February 19. Pakistan has handed over the Provisional Team List to the ICC for the Champions Trophy. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Afridi have been allowed to be in the Team.
A surprise inclusion in the squad is Fakhar Zaman, returning after 459 days. Fakhar, who last played an ODI in November 2023, had been out of the team due to inconsistent performances. However, his record in the 2017 Champions Trophy, where he scored a match-winning century against India, seems to have influenced his comeback.

Fakhar Zaman’s Heroics in the 2017 Champions Trophy
The 2017 Champions Trophy Fakhr Jaman scored 114 off 106 balls with 12 fours and three sixes. Also, India had a 338-run challenge to win. This challenge could not reach some India. India’s entire team was dismissed for only 158 runs. Pakistan defeated India by 180 runs. Fakhr Jaman was awarded the Man of the Match in this match.
Meanwhile, the names of the players like Tayyab Tahir, Irrfan Khan Niaji, Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam and Salman Ali are the names of the middle plan. These players did well in South Africa. Abrar Ahmed and Sufian Mukim have been allowed to bowl.
