Upcoming Tours and Squad Announcement

According to a PTI report, the third Test against England will end on October 28 and the team has to leave for Australia the next day, so the selectors will announce the limited-overs team by Sunday. The report further said that Rizwan is at the forefront of the race to become the captain of the limited-overs team due to his seniority, his credibility as a player, and his experience of leading teams in domestic cricket and PSL.

It is worth noting that Babar Azam resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan earlier this month and said that he wanted to focus on his batting. Pakistan has to play 9 ODIs and 9 T20 Internationals in Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. They also have to play two Test matches against South Africa before returning home.

Possible Return of Key Players

According to the report, the board has now given the selectors the right to choose the captain. Aqib, Azhar Ali, and Aleem Dar have already spoken to Rizwan and expressed their desire to take over this responsibility. At the same time, the selectors can include Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah in the ODI and T20I squads after being rested for the last two Test matches against England.

With Rizwan’s potential appointment, Pakistan is looking to strengthen its squad ahead of important tours, and fans eagerly await the official announcement.
