Pakistan’s Struggle: Scoring Woes with 13.2 Runs in 22 Overs Against South Africa

In the live coverage of the ICC ODI World Cup between Pakistan and South Africa, Pakistan faced challenges.

South Africa last won the World Cup in 1999, and they’ve been tough competitors for Pakistan this year.

Pakistan, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, struggled with scoring. They had 80 dot balls in 22 overs, which is like not scoring for about 13.2 overs.

Openers Abdullah Shafiq (9) and Imam-ul-Haq (12) got out quickly to Marco Jansen. Rizwan had a close call, almost getting out to Jansen’s delivery.

Jansen is the top bowler with 10 wickets in the first 10 overs of this World Cup.

Babar Azam and Rizwan stabilized Pakistan’s innings, but Rizwan (31) got out to Gerald Coetzee. The dot balls added pressure.

Babar and Iftikhar Ahmed (21) added 43 runs for the fourth wicket. Iftikhar was caught near the boundary attempting a big shot off Tabrez Shamsi.

Babar managed a fifty but was dismissed by Shamsi after a glove touch to the wicketkeeper. Babar scored 50 off 65 balls with 4 fours and 1 six.

At this point, half of Pakistan’s team was back in the pavilion, with a score of 141 in 27.5 overs.
