After winning the toss, Pakistan’s openers Abdullah Shafiq (9) and Imam-ul-Haq (12) were dismissed by Marco Janssen. Mohammad Rizwan had a close call but continued with Babar Azam for a 48-run partnership. Rizwan (31) got out to a bouncer by Gerald Coetzee. Babar and Iftikhar Ahmed (21) added 43 runs, but Tabrez Shamsi dismissed both. Half of Pakistan’s team was out for 141 runs in 27.5 overs.
Babar Azam’s innings was slow, but Shadab Khan and Saud Shakeel played aggressively, adding 84 runs in 71 balls. Coetzee broke their partnership by dismissing Shadab (43). Shamsi troubled Pakistani batsmen, taking Shakeel’s wicket (52) and Shaheen Afridi’s (2). Mohammad Nawaz scored 24 runs but was dismissed by Jansen. The entire Pakistan team was bowled out for 270 runs in 46.4 overs.
