New controversies continue to emerge around the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. According to reports, the opening ceremony of the global event has been cancelled due to the delayed arrival of two participating teams.

The reason for the delay of two teams for the Champions Trophy 2025.
According to information received from Pakistan’s news platform Geo Super, controversy is arising in this ceremony because two major boards The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and CA (Cricket Australia) have informed both ICC and PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) that they will not be able to be a part of this ceremony. Both teams will be able to arrive late for this prestigious event due to bilateral commitments against India and Sri Lanka.

The Australian team will reach Lahore on February 19, on the other hand, the England team will reach on February 18. The Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin from February 19. Due to their busy schedule, England and Australia teams want a week and four-day break respectively after the series. It is clear that both teams will not be able to be a part of the two practice matches allotted to each participant before the ICC global event.
The Afghanistan team will reach Islamabad on February 12. New Zealand and South Africa are already present in Pakistan for the triangular series. This series will conclude on February 14.
Rohit Sharma’s pre-tournament event tour cancelled:
According to the information coming out, pre-tournament events usually take place before ICC events. For example, photoshoots and captains’ press conferences have cancelled. The venue for all these events was Karachi. Indian captain Rohit Sharma had already refused to play in this tournament due to security reasons. India will play the matches of this tournament against Bangladesh in Dubai. The team will reach UAE on 15 February.
