Security Concerns Ahead of Second Test

The second Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Clouds of crisis have hung over this test match which will be played from 27th September. On one side, the rain is visible in the match. On the other hand, there has been a wave of anger against the visiting team in the backdrop of incidents of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. In this background, the police administration has tightened its belt to avoid any untoward incident and a strong security cover has been set up around the players of both the teams.

Tensions Rise with Protests

According to a PTI report, an FIR was filed on Monday against some activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha for allegedly blocking the road in front of the stadium and holding a ‘havan’. This movement was held against the ‘tyranny’ of Hindus in Bangladesh. Deputy Commissioner of Police Harish Chander informed that it was decided to increase the security system after this incident.

The players of both India and Bangladesh have arrived here on Tuesday for the second Test match to be played at the Kanpur ground. Players are staying in a hotel located about one and a half kilometers from the Green Park Stadium. The players of both teams were given a grand welcome at the five-star hotel.

Tight Security Arrangements for India and Bangladesh Teams

Tight security for players According to a PTI report, Upper Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander said that both the India and Bangladesh teams were escorted from the airport to the hotel under tight security. Both teams will take part in practice sessions at the Green Park Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday.

Strict security has been kept in and around the hotel where the players of both teams are staying. According to the Police Commissioner, nearly 2 thousand police personnel have been deployed for the security of the players and VVIPs of both teams. Strict security has also been maintained at the Green Park Stadium. Around 1000 police personnel will be deployed in the stadium and around the stadium on the day of the match. Not only this, social media platforms are also on the radar of the security system.
