Rishabh Pant Ruled Out of DPL 2025: Just days before the start of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, Purani Dilli 6 have been hit with a major setback. Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the tournament due to a fractured metatarsal in his right foot.

The injury occurred during the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. Despite the pain, Pant bravely walked out to bat on Day 2 and scored a gritty half-century. However, the injury now sidelines him for at least six weeks.

Pant was retained by Purani Dilli 6 for INR 21 lakh, making him their marquee player for the season. His absence is not only a loss for the team but also for the tournament, as he was expected to bring star power and leadership.

With Pant out, Vansh Bedi has been named as the new captain of Purani Dilli 6 for DPL 2025. Bedi now leads a strong squad that made it to the semi-finals last season and is aiming for the title this year. Team owner Akash Nangia expressed full confidence in Bedi’s leadership, calling him a smart, calm-headed player ready for the big stage.

New Season, New Partners for Purani Dilli 6

Purani Dilli 6 also announced their commercial tie-ups for the season. PUMA has come on board as the official jersey sponsor, while Radio Mirchi is the official radio partner. These partnerships reflect the growing popularity and commercial value of the DPL.

Season Opener on August 5 at Arun Jaitley Stadium

They are placed in a tough group alongside West Delhi Lions, New Delhi Tigers, and South Delhi Superstarz. The league features 8 teams split into two groups, with the top four advancing to the playoffs. The final will be played on August 31, with September 1 kept as a reserve day.
