Rohit Sharma to Join Mumbai Team for Practice

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has informed the Mumbai team management that he will come for the practice session for the Ranji Trophy. This session is scheduled to be held at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday morning. Sharma has resumed his training at the MCA-BKC ground to prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

The Mumbai team will use the centre-wicket practice session for their next Ranji Trophy league round. The match is to be played in Mumbai against Jammu and Kashmir. An MCA source said that Sharma has not yet been informed about his availability and is still considering whether to play Ranji Trophy league matches or not. The remaining round of Ranji Trophy is going to start from January 23.

Rohit’s Return to Domestic Cricket Still Uncertain

According to the report of Indian Express, he will come for a practice session with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team and it is still not decided whether he will play the next Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. He will inform MCA at the appropriate time. Rohit last played a Ranji match in 2015-16. He played this match for Mumbai against Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir had said that he wants everyone to play domestic cricket.

Rohit last played domestic cricket on 10-14 September 2016. This match of the Duleep Trophy was played between India Blue and India Red. Rohit Sharma scored 3 runs in the first innings and 32 runs in the second innings of this match. Talking about the result, India Blue defeated India Red by 355 runs. Gautam Gambhir was captaining India Blue.
