Changes in Sri Lanka’s Leadership
Before India toured Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga stepped down as the captain of the host team. Sri Lanka will now need to appoint a new captain for the series against India. Additionally, the Sri Lankan team will have a new head coach, with experienced former opener Sanath Jayasuriya serving as the interim coach for the series.
The Sri Lankan team, while not as strong as in the past, has shown commendable performances, especially in the Asia Cup. During India’s last tour to Sri Lanka in 2021, India won the ODI series but lost the T20 series 1-2. The upcoming matches will be a test for both teams, with fans eagerly awaiting the exciting clashes.
