The USA won the toss and invited South Africa to bat. South Africa scored 194 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. For South Africa opener wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock top scored with 74 runs. Captain Aidan Markram added 46 runs off 32 balls. Riza Hendricks scored 11 runs. David Miller left as he came. Both Henrik Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs hit at the last minute to take the team’s score to 190. Klaasen scored 36 not out in 22 balls. Stubbs scored an unbeaten 20 off 16 balls.
