Ireland Secures Historic ODI Series Win Against Sri Lanka

The ongoing three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and Ireland Women’s teams has already seen Ireland claim the series 2-0 after winning the first two matches. In the opening match, Ireland won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Sri Lankan team posted a competitive score of 260 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. However, Ireland successfully chased down the target with 3 wickets in hand and 4 balls to spare, securing a thrilling victory.

In the second ODI, Sri Lanka opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Ireland set a target of 256 runs by scoring 255 for 5 in their 50 overs. Despite a valiant effort, the Sri Lankan team fell short, being bowled out for 240 in 48 overs, handing Ireland a 15-run win. Harshitha’s Century Goes in Vain as Sri Lanka Falters

In the second ODI, Sri Lanka’s batting struggled, with only Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari standing out. Harshitha scored a brilliant 105 runs from 124 balls, hitting 11 fours. Unfortunately, her century couldn’t save the team from defeat. Kavisha Dilhari contributed with 53 runs off 71 balls, including a six and a four. Despite their efforts, the rest of the batting lineup failed to perform. Ireland’s bowlers, led by Earlene Kelly with 3 wickets, Jane Maguire with 2, and contributions from Amy Maguire and Freya Sergeant, ensured Sri Lanka’s downfall.
