Team India has been announced for the T20 series to be held after the Test series against Bangladesh. BCCI on Saturday announced the 15-member squad under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. The 3-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will start on October 6. With this series, the T20 team will return to the ground after a gap of more than two months. Earlier, Team India toured Sri Lanka for a T20I series at the end of July. Many players from that series have been retained in the team. But in this team, 2 new players have got a place in Team India for the first time. A bowler has returned to Team India after almost 3 years.
IPL star Mayank Yadav has a chance to make a debut on the team. Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has also got a place in Team India for the first time. While Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Akshar Patel, and Mohammad Siraj did not get a place. They are currently part of the Test series and will not be. After that, a break will be given for some time. One important point is that star wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan has not been selected for the squad despite expectations.
Varun Chakraborty’s Comeback After 3 Years
Ishan did not return but after a long wait of almost 3 years, the mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty is back in Team India. Varun Chakraborty was instrumental in making Kolkata Knight Riders the IPL champions. He was selected for the first time in the squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup. His performance there was poor and he did not look imposing in terms of fitness. In such a situation, he was dropped from the team. But now he has got a place in the team.
