Sri Lanka managed to score only 2 runs in the Super Over. Washington Sundar dismissed both Kusal Perera and Pathum Nisanka in the Super Over. Sri Lankan batsmen failed in Super Over. It was made possible by Sundar’s amazing bowling. So Team India got a challenge of only 3 runs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav completed this challenge by hitting a boundary on the very first ball and gave India an easy and simple victory. while chasing the 138 runs India gave for victory, Sri Lanka had a firm grip on the match till the 18th over. Pathum Nisanka’s 26 and Kusal Mendis’ 43 runs helped Sri Lanka reach a strong position. Lanka needed just 9 runs from the last 2 overs. It was Kusal Perera who was set in the field. So Sri Lanka was looking victorious. Surya gave the 19th over to Rinku Singh. Everyone was shocked by Surya’s decision. But Rinku justified Surya’s faith. Rinku took 2 wickets for just 3 runs in his first international over. Rinku dismissed both Kusal Perera (46) and Ramesh Mendis (3)

Meanwhile, before that, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited Team India to bat. Team India scored 137 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Apart from Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rian Parag, Shivam Dubey, and Washington Sundar, none of them could reach double figures. Shubman Gill scored 39, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 10, Shivam Dube scored 13, Rian Parag scored 26 and Washington Sundar added 25 runs. Others could not do anything special. Mahesh Tikshana took the most wickets from Sri Lanka with 3 wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets. While R Mendis, Chamindu Wickremesinghe and Asitha Fernando got 1 wicket each.
