Team India’s Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: BCCI selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar and skipper Rohit Sharma have announced the Indian team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
At a press conference at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Ajit Agarkar and Rohit Sharma announced the names of the players for the competition.
Team India Announced for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Accordingly, Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team. Shubman Gill has been given the responsibility of the Deputy Commissioner. A total of 8 teams have participated in the Champions Trophy. Team India has been included in the A group.
The group, including Team India, includes Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand. Pakistan has the honour of being the Champions Trophy host. Therefore, all the matches in Team India’s chain will be in Dubai for security reasons.

Karun Nair Left Out of India’s Champions Trophy Squad Despite Strong Performances
KL Rahul was the first choice as a wicketkeeper. Accordingly, KL has been selected. Rishabh Pant has won the team by defeating Sanju Samson as an alternative wicketkeeper. Therefore, Sanju Samson has got a ditch. Shreyas Iyer has also been included in the team.
For the first time, Jaiswal has been selected from the Champions Trophy in the ODI team. So if successful, it will be a one-day debut. On the other hand, Karun Nair was not given the opportunity by the selection committee.
Karun scored more than 750 runs in 7 matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-2025 this season. It was hoped that Karun would have a chance. However, the selection committee did not consider Karun.
