The much-awaited Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) meeting with IPL  franchise chiefs on Wednesday discussed retention ahead of the mega auction at the board’s headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium complex, sources said. In this meeting, the number of retentions should be 5 to 6, a mega auction should be held every five years, the purse should be increased, players should be given performance-based increases and uncapped players should be increased. As per the information, franchises may be allowed to keep at least two uncapped players in separate slots. Many teams have worked hard on uncapped players for the past two to three years and don’t want to lose them.
