TNPL Playoffs Begin Tomorrow: Coimbatore Kings vs Tirupur Tamilians
The 8th Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 20-over cricket tournament, which began on the 5th of July in Salem, has reached its playoff stage. After completing 23 matches across Salem, Coimbatore, and Dindigul, the top four teams are set to compete for the title.
TNPL Playoff Teams and Standings
Defending champions, Coimbatore Kings, finished at the top of the league table with 12 points, having won 6 out of their 7 matches. The other three teams that qualified for the playoffs are Chepauk Super Gillies, Dindigul Dragons, and Tirupur Tamilians, each securing 8 points with 4 wins and 3 losses. Based on net run rate, Tirupur Tamilians ranked 2nd, Chepauk Super Gillies 3rd, and Dindigul Dragons 4th.

The teams that didn’t make it to the playoffs are Nellai Royal Kings (7 points), Trichy Warriors (6 points), Madurai Panthers (5 points), and Salem Spartans (2 points).
TNPL Playoff Schedule
After a rest day today, the playoffs will kick off tomorrow in Dindigul.
- Qualifier 1: Coimbatore Kings vs Tirupur Tamilians at 7:15 PM. The winning team will advance directly to the finals, while the losing team will get another chance in Qualifier 2.
- Eliminator Match (July 31st): Chepauk Super Gillies vs Dindigul Dragons. The winning team will move on to play in Qualifier 2 against the loser of Qualifier 1, and the losing team will be eliminated.
Qualifier 2 will take place on August 2nd, and the finals will be held on August 4th in Chennai
