Washington Freedom Wins MLC Title
Washington Freedom has won the Major Cricket League (MLC) title thanks to the excellent performance of the bowlers after the stormy batting of Steve Smith (88). Freedom defeated San Francisco by a huge margin of 96 runs in the MLC final played in Dallas.
In the final, Washington Freedom batted first and scored 207 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the team of San Francisco Unicorns collapsed for 111 runs in 16 overs. Washington Freedom became the second champion of MLC. MI New York became the inaugural champion of MLC.

Smith’s Stormy Innings and Bowlers’ Dominance
Washington Freedom batted first and set a formidable target of 207 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Captain Steve Smith led the charge with a powerful 88 runs off 52 balls, including seven fours and six sixes. Glenn Maxwell supported him with a brisk 40 runs off 22 balls. Despite a shaky start with Travis Head falling early, Smith and Maxwell’s partnership propelled the team to a commanding total. Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers for San Francisco, taking two wickets, while Hasan Khan, Harris Rauf, and Juan Drysdale took one wicket each

San Francisco Unicorns Collapse
In response, the San Francisco Unicorns struggled to chase the target of 208 runs. They were bowled out for just 111 runs in 16 overs. Marco Jansen and Rachin Ravindra each took three wickets, while Andrew Tye grabbed two. Saurabh Netravalkar and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with one wicket apiece. Carmi Le Roux was the top scorer for the Unicorns with an unbeaten 20 runs, but the rest of the team failed to make significant contributions. Four batsmen, including Finn Allen and Pat Cummins, were dismissed after scoring just 13 runs each.
Washington Freedom’s comprehensive victory was built on Steve Smith’s explosive batting and the bowlers’ clinical performance, securing them the prestigious MLC title.
