USA in ODI: The United States (USA) broke Indiaβs old record by bowling out Oman by 57 runs in the ICC Menβs Cricket World Cup League 2 match at Al Amarat. The previous lowest score successfully defended in a full ODI was 125 by India against Pakistan in the Rothmans Four-Nations Cup in 1985. They won the match by 38 runs in Sharjah.
USA Defends the Lowest ODI Score Successfully
With the win over Oman, the United States broke Indiaβs long-standing record after almost 40 years. All nine bowlers used in the match were spinners. This was the first completed menβs ODI match in 4671 matches where a fast bowler did not bowl a single ball.
The match was the highest by spinners in an ODI match between Bangladesh and Pakistan in 2011, and the highest by spinners in an ODI.
Meanwhile, in todayβs match, both teams scored just 187 runs in 61 overs, which led to both teams being dismissed and is the second-lowest total in an ODI. The 2014 India-Bangladesh ODI match is at the top of the list with 163 runs in a 41-over match.
