Australia’s senior players, including Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, and Steven Smith, are set to make their return for the upcoming three ODIs against India. They had missed the series in South Africa due to injuries.
The 18-member squad, led by Pat Cummins, will be missing Travis Head, who sustained a left-hand fracture during the fourth ODI against South Africa. This injury has cast doubt on his spot in the 15-man World Cup squad, as he will now return home.
The Australia squad for the India ODIs includes Pat Cummins (captain), Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Matt Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, and Adam Zampa.
Marnus Labuschagne, who could potentially replace Travis Head in the squad if needed, will also be part of the ODI squad for the India series. Tanveer Sangha and Nathan Ellis, who are not part of the World Cup squad, have been selected for these ODIs in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot.
In addition to the familiar faces, there are two uncapped players, Matt Short and Spencer Johnson, included in an extended 18-man group for the India ODIs.
Ashton Agar, who is part of the World Cup squad, is currently on family leave due to the birth of his first child. However, Tim David and Michael Neser, who were part of the South Africa ODI series, will not be travelling to India.
