Changes in the Selection Committee

Razzaq was appointed to the selection committee for both the men’s and women’s teams a few weeks ago. Now he will not even work as a selector for the women’s team. Razzak is believed to be close to PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. After Naqvi became the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, he appointed a sports minister to his cabinet. Wahab also worked with him as the team manager during the T-20 World Cup jointly organized by the USA and the West Indies.

Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzak were included in the selection committee four months ago. The Pakistan Cricket Board had formed a seven-member selection committee four months ago and removed the post of chief selector. All seven members had equal voting rights. This 7-member committee had selected the team for the T20 World Cup. Apart from Riaz and Razzaq, the selection committee members include head coach and captain Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, and data analyst Bilal Afzal.
