Players’ Workload Management is the Priority

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the IPL has decided to play only 74 matches in the year 2025. The reason behind this is that it will help international players to manage their workload. Also, the Indian team is at the top position in the World Test Championship points table. It is also considered as the favorite for the final round. So BCCI is thinking of giving Indian players enough rest to prepare for important matches. BCCI’s Sachin Jai Shah’s statement about IPL matches last month will also be important.

Jay Shah’s Statement on Match Increase

BCCI’s current secretary Jay Shah had told the Economic Times that, ‘We have not taken any decision on organizing 84 matches in IPL 2025, as we have to keep in mind the increasing pressure on the players due to the increase in the number of matches.’ He further said that BCCI has the complete decision to decide whether to play or 84.

IPL fans can still expect top-level competition, but the focus for now is on ensuring that the world’s best players are ready and fit to perform at their peak.
