The first Test between West Indies and South Africa in their two-match series ended in a draw on Monday. Following this, the updated World Test Championship (WTC) points table was released, showing that the Indian team continues to dominate.

India Maintains Top Spot in WTC Points Table

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India remains at the top of the World Test Championship points table. Despite the draw between West Indies and South Africa, there were minor changes in their points percentage, but their positions on the table remain unchanged. South Africa is currently in the seventh position, while the West Indies hold the ninth spot.

Australia is in second place on the WTC points table, followed by New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan in third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively.

England Struggles Despite Most Matches Played

Interestingly, England, which has played the most matches in the current WTC cycle, is in sixth place. Both South Africa and West Indies face a tough challenge to qualify for the WTC final. The second Test of the series between South Africa and West Indies will be played in Providence from August 16.
