Yashasvi Jaiswal Test Record: The first match of the five-match Test series is being played between Australia and India in Perth. The second day of the first Test match has started.
On the second day of the match, the best opening batsman of the Indian team, Yashasvi Jaiswal, broke the 16-year-old record of former player and currently the head coach of Team India, Gautam Gambhir.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Breaks 16-Year-Old Record in Perth Test
Yashasvi Jaiswal has now scored the most runs by an Indian left-handed batsman in a calendar year, which was earlier a record held by Gautam Gambhir, who achieved this feat in 2008.
Gautam Gambhir scored 1134 runs in 8 matches in 2008 at an average of above 70, which included 6 half-centuries and three centuries. Yashasvi Jaiswal has so far scored more than 1161 runs in this calendar year at an average of 55.28.
Yashasvi’s performance was very poor in the first innings of this match and he returned to the pavilion without opening his account.
However, in the second innings, they have batted very well so far and have put pressure on the Australian bowlers.

Indian Bowlers Dominate Australia
Team India scored 150 runs after losing all the wickets in their first innings. Nitish Kumar Reddy played an innings of 41 runs for India while Rishabh Pant was out for 37 runs.
In response, Australia also batted disappointingly and the team was all out for 104 runs. Mitchell Starc scored 26 runs for the host while Alex Carey contributed 21 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for Team India while Harshit Rana took three and Mohammad Siraj took two wickets.
Team India has started very well in the second innings and will look to score as many runs as possible against the host. At present, Team India is in a very strong position and they would definitely like to win the first Test.
