India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup: The Asia Cup 2025 will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 8 to 28. The tournament will feature eight teams, including full ICC members India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, along with associate teams UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. The matches are scheduled to be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
This year’s tournament will be played in the T20 format, serving as preparation for the T20 World Cup in 2026. Teams will first compete in the group stage, after which the top teams will progress to the Super Four. The top two teams from there will face off in the final.
India vs Pakistan Confirmed in Asia Cup 2025
India’s participation in the Asia Cup was in doubt due to ongoing political tensions with Pakistan, especially after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. There were even talks of boycotting all matches involving Pakistan.
However, BCCI secretary Devajit Saika has cleared the air, saying that India has not taken any decision to boycott the Asia Cup or any other Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events. He added that there was no official communication from the BCCI to the ACC about pulling out.
This clarification came after reports surfaced in the morning suggesting. India might skip both the Asia Cup and the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Saika called those reports false and baseless.
ACC AGM and Future Decisions
Despite tensions between India and Pakistan and a trade dispute with Bangladesh, the BCCI has chosen to stay engaged. Rajeev Shukla, representing the BCCI, is virtually attending the ACC Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka.
The decision to attend the meeting marks a positive step amid uncertainty and shows India’s commitment to Asian cricket. Fans can now look forward to seeing a full-strength Indian team compete in the Asia Cup 2025.
