1574 players have registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. A key player like Ben Stokes is not on this list. Among the Indian players, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer have listed themselves at a base price of Rs 2 crore, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal were released by Rajasthan Royals. All of them have listed themselves at the best price of 2 crores.
Many rules have also been changed for the IPL mini-auction. After the list of all the registered players is released, the franchise will shortlist the players after their inputs. This also includes many main players who have not been retained by the franchise. Rishabh Pant, who was the captain of Delhi Capitals, and Rahul, who was the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, were not retained. Starc listed himself among the most expensive players.
Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player in the history of IPL, has listed himself at the best price of Rs 2 crore. Mitchell Starc was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 for Rs 24.50 crore.
At present, he has come into the auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore. Jofra Archer, who is now making a comeback after the 2023 IPL, is also on the list at the same base price. He played his last match in the year 2023 for Mumbai Indians in which he played just 5 matches.
