Mohammad Shami comeback: Mohammad Shami, who is desperate to return to the national team, may get good news soon. The England team is coming to India in January and will play the ODI and T20I series here.
In such a situation, there is a report that fast bowler Mohammad Shami is expected to return to the Indian team for the series against England and possibly the Champions Trophy. Shami is currently busy with the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Mohammad Shami Eyes National Team Comeback
According to a Cricbuzz report, according to the BCCI, the NCA medical team is closely monitoring Shami. Shami has undergone surgery on his right heel. The heel has healed, but there is slight swelling in his knee, due to which he was not sent to Australia for the subsequent matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Recently Shami has participated in some matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Bengal and is set to play again in the pre-quarterfinals against Haryana in Baroda on Thursday.

NCA Monitors Shami’s Fitness for England Series
The BCCI said that Shami is under the observation of the medical team of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Wherever he goes, he is accompanied by at least one NCA physio or trainer.
There were a few physios or trainers in Rajkot where Shami played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and recently an NCA physio was seen in Hyderabad looking after both Shami and Hardik Pandya.
The NCA team may also be present during the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout matches in Baroda to closely assess Shami’s performance, who is a member of the national selection committee.
It is reported that his bowling has not been affected and he is largely trouble-free. Though NCA approval is mandatory for his recall, he is now looking likely to make a comeback into the squad.
Akash Deep Unlikely for Upcoming Matches
Meanwhile, pacer Akash Deep is unlikely to play in the upcoming white-ball series against England. It is believed that Akash Deep, who missed the fifth and final Test against Australia due to back pain, will be out of action for at least a month. On returning to India, he has to report to the NCA or the new Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
