Rishabh Pant got injured while wicketkeeping against New Zealand. He had to leave the field and return to the dressing room during the match. Dhruv Jural had to handle wicketkeeping in his place.

Rohit Sharma has described Pant’s injury as not very serious. He said that he had to return to the dressing room due to precautionary measures.

Rohit stated that,

“It is a precautionary measure. We do not want to take a risk. Rishabh does not want to take a risk because he has gone through a massive surgery on that particular leg,”

Rishabh Pant Suffers Right Knee Injury While Wicketkeeping, India Struggles After Record-Low 46 Runs

Pant got this injury while wicketkeeping on Ravindra Jadeja’s ball. This injury happened on Rishabh Pant’s left knee where he was injured during an accident in 2022. He has undergone multiple surgeries on this knee.

After the injury, slight swelling was also noticed on Rishabh Pant’s knee. At this time the team physio was called onto the field, and Pant was taken to the dressing room.

India is lagging far behind in the first Test match between India and New Zealand. The Indian team was all out for 46 runs, which is India’s lowest score in the Test format.  Rishabh Pant has scored 20 runs in this match.

By the end of the first day’s play, New Zealand scored 180 runs for the loss of 3 wickets and took the lead of 134 runs in the first inning. Rohit Sharma has attributed the team’s poor performance on the first day to the lack of proper reading of the pitch. All cricket fans praying for Rishabh Pant’s speedy recovery.
