Rohit Sharma on Test Cricket Challenges
These veteran cricketers can be seen playing again in the series against Australia. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma appeared on a program. This time, he shared an experience in Test cricket.
This time, he expressed his opinion about the mental and physical hardships in Tests. He also said that it is challenging. Therefore, fans are interpreting this statement in their own way. Sports fans are interpreting Rohit’s mental and physical fatigue as meaning.
Rohit Sharma said about the Test format, ‘Test cricket is a format where you have to prepare. Because in this format, you have to be on the field for a long time. You have to play for five days in Tests. Therefore, it is mentally challenging. It is also tiring.
But all cricketers have grown up playing first-class cricket. When you start playing competitive cricket, even club cricket matches in Mumbai last for two to three days. We are prepared for this from a young age. This makes it easy to face future situations.’
The Importance of Discipline and Preparation in Tests
‘When you are young, you don’t understand the importance of preparation. But when you play, there is a discipline. It starts with preparation. It is very important to understand this. When you play long formats, you have to work harder. Concentration is also important. There is an expectation of good performance. So you need to be mentally strong. I started playing for Mumbai. Later, the same thing happened to me while playing for India. My focus and time is on how I prepare,’ Rohit Sharma added.
With both Rohit and Kohli stepping away from Test cricket, fans are now waiting to see how India reshapes its future in the longest format.
