However, according to a media report, the Delhi franchise wants to see someone else in this role instead of Pant. Rahul led the Lucknow Super Giants last season, while Faf du Plessis led Royal Challengers Bangalore. But bypassing both of them, DC seems to be in the mood to make Axar Patel the captain.

According to the report of ANI, it is being made clear by the source of the top management of Delhi Capitals. Axar Patel will captain Delhi this year. Axar Patel has been with the Delhi team since 2019, he was seen leading the team many times in the absence of Rishabh Pant.

KL Rahul to Play as Wicketkeeper Batsman

Axar Patel’s captaincy means that KL Rahul will remain in the team as a wicketkeeper-batsman. At the same time, it will be seen whether Faf du Plessis, who was the captain of RCB till last season, gets a place in the playing XI or not.
