Star Players Expected to Draw Big Bids
According to a report by ANI, the mega auction for IPL 2025 could be held in Riyadh by the end of this month. According to reports, the IPL auction may take place between November 24 and 25 in Riyadh. Several star players are likely to fetch a fortune in the mega auction. This includes star players like Josh Buttler, Aiden Markram, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.
46 Players Retained Across Teams
Ahead of the mega auction, all 10 franchises retained 46 players for a combined spend of Rs 558.50 crore. This includes 36 Indian players and 10 foreign players. There are also 10 uncapped players among the 36 Indians. Kolkata Knight Riders have released captain Shreyas Iyer, Delhi Capitals have released captain Rishabh Pant and Lucknow Super Giants have released captain KL Rahul. In such a situation, many franchises are talking about making a big bid for these captains in the auction.
