Earlier news was coming out that he was not included in the list of 574 selected players. But a few days before the auction, Archer has planned to participate in the IPL after getting the NOC from the ECB.

But after some rules made for the upcoming season of IPL, Archer was unhappy with the board. After which the ECB has given him the NOC. BCCI has made some special rules regarding IPL 2025
Some special rules have been made by the BCCI for the upcoming season of IPL. One of these rules is that a player who has already participated in the IPL and does not participate in the upcoming auction, then he will not be included in the upcoming editions of IPL for the next few years.
Why Archer Almost Missed the IPL Auction
After this rule of IPL came to the fore, Jofra Archer was unhappy with the England Cricket Board. He was afraid somewhere that if he did not participate in the IPL 2025 auction, then he would not be included in the upcoming editions.

The main reason behind this is that along with sharp bowling, he is adept at explosive batting in the lower order. He has played a total of 40 matches in the league so far. Meanwhile, he has got 48 wickets in 40 innings at an average of 24.4.
While batting, he has scored 199 runs in 25 innings at an average of 15.31. In IPL, his bat has hit 11 fours and 14 sixes.
