LSG Captain For IPL 2025: LSG has announced its new captain ahead of the 2025 season. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise owned by Sanjiv Goenka has appointed star Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant as captain.
Rishabh Pant Named LSG Captain for IPL 2025
“I was very clear about this and I wanted Rishabh Pant in the LSG team at any cost. Let anyone say whatever they want. I knew that no one would bid as much for Rishabh Pant as I would”. Further, Sanjiv Goenka said that “Rishabh Pant is going to become the best captain in IPL history in future.

Pant’s Record-Breaking Auction Move
Earlier in the IPL mega auction in Jeddah last year, LSG surprised everyone by buying India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant (Rishabh Pant in IPL 2024 Mega Auction) for Rs 27 crore, making him the most expensive player ever sold in an IPL auction.
Pant was the captain of DC from the 2021 to 2024 editions of the IPL, except for the 2023 season, which he missed due to recovering from an injury suffered in a car accident in December 2022, but before the retention deadline, he was released by DC, ending his nine-year association with them and was picked by LSG in the mega auction.
